Dallas Zoo Dollar Days: Dates, Tickets, and How Not to Miss Out

Updated August 6, 2026

If you've followed me for a while, you know Dollar Days are one of my favorite deals in Dallas: the whole zoo, $1 a person. Here's everything you need to know so your family doesn't miss the next one.

What Dollar Days are

A few times each summer, the Dallas Zoo drops admission to $1 per person. Same zoo, same animals, one dollar. It's their way of making the zoo reachable for every family in North Texas, and I love them for it.

Why you have to move fast

The 2026 summer dates (July 16 and August 4) sold out. When the zoo announces dates, tickets go online at dallaszoo.com/dollar-days and they go quickly. My advice:

  • Follow the zoo AND follow me: I post the moment dates drop
  • Buy tickets online the day they're announced, don't wait for the week of
  • Go early in the day; Dollar Days are the zoo's busiest days and Texas heat builds fast

What to bring

  • Water bottles (refill stations inside)
  • Stroller or wagon for little legs
  • Sunscreen, hats, and patience for the crowds

Stay ready for the next dates

I track this page and update it whenever new Dollar Days are announced, so save it. Better yet, join the weekend plan below: when the next dates drop, you'll hear it from me first. God is good!
